Who’s afraid of the wolf?

With the return of the wolf to many areas of Italy returns our irrational fear and intolerance towards these incredible animals. Ippoasi is hosting Paolo Rossi, wolf expert and photo-activist,  who will be debunking debunking beliefs and false myths, telling us about his many years of  experience in the field.

This event is important not only as an opportunity to get together but to raise funds that the volunteers need to keep the project moving forward.

Schedule of the event:

• 10 am: guided tour of the sanctuary
• 12.30 pm: vegan buffet
• 14.30 pm: “Chi ha paura del lupo?” (“Who’s afraid of the wolf?”) – presentation by Paolo Rossi, wolf expert, nature photographer, photo-activist against poaching
• 14.30 pm: Kids entertainment
• 15.30 pm: guided tour of the sanctuary

The Biobar will be in full swing: there will be wine, craft beer, lemonade and fresh fruit and vegetable juices.

In order to support the sanctuary and to contribute to the realisation of the event, we would like to ask you for an appropriate donation in addition to the lunch contribution. All proceeds will go towards the rescued animals living at Ippoasi.

On 18 August we will host the presentation of the project ZOOUT, the first documentary about zoos in Italia and the animals that are imprisoned there. Written by Francesco Cortonesi and Chiara Magpie, ZOOUT is a precious and fundamental testimony, not only of the imprisonment and apathy that reign those dark places, but also of those lucky animals who were freed and of the amazing work carried out by the Rete dei Santuari di Animali Liberi.

As usual you will be able to binge on our tasty organic, local vegan buffet afterwards. There will obviously also be the seitan roasters!

We’re hosting this “festa” in order to raise funds for all the animals that live at Ippoasi as well as Il Refugio della Bubi. : over 100 individuals equal expenses of about 8000€ each month. We therefore ask for a reasonable donation upon your arrival that will go towards the expenses for the event as well as the project.

Ippoasi survives only thanks to you kind and reasonable donations. If you enjoy participating in our events, please support us – so we can organise many more in the future!

Movie nights at Ippoasi!

• Saturday, 28 July: “The Plague Dogs”, (1982) by M. Rosen
• Wednesday, 15 August: “The Shape of Water”, (2017) by G. del Toro
• Wednesday, September 5: “La planète sauvage – Fantastic Planet”, (1973), by René Laloux

The films will be in original language with Italian subtitles. The contents are not particularly suitable for children.

The films will start around 9 pm. For any kind of donation we’ll feed you with popcorn and serve fresh juices.

If you want to be more comfortable, bring a pillow!

Coming 2 June: don’t miss out on the return of the famous Ippoasi pizza and arrosticini!

On this occasion we’ll fire up our wood oven and delight you with our famous vegan pizza topped with plant-based cheeses kindly offered by Pangea Food  as well as the beloved Seitan arrosticini.

We will also celebrate the return of our friend Marco Verdone, homeopathic vet, who will present the book “Salvati con nome. Carcere e rieducazione nonviolenta: il modello dell’Isola di Gorgona”. We’re happy to also host the co-author Francesco Presti, agronomist.
