Oliver’s story

Oliver is a horse with American roots born in 1988. During his first five years he was a race horse and was tortured with various methods (such as an electric whip and being dragged by a tractor). Afterwards he was used as a saddle horse, a walking horse and for hippotherapy. Once he was released in the sanctuary and was able to make his own choices he did not want to be near humans for a long time. He is the wiseman of the herd, the one who “welcomes” new arrivals and makes them understand what the hierarchy of Ippoasi is. He is close friends with Tombola and Mirtillo with whom he loves to graze on fresh grass in the field.
