Gorilla’s story

Gorilla arrived at the sanctuary when he was four years old and very weak. His precarious condition was caused by surgery on his trachea that went wrong. This kind of surgery is performed on race horses to improve their results. The intervention made it almost impossible for him to eat: everything he swallowed came back out through his nostrils. A life in freedom far away from the stress of the racetracks enabled him to recover fully by himself and understand how to survive. Gorilla is a horse who tends to bite but we can’t blame him. Secretly he has a very soft heart and a tenacious nature. He did not randomly become the herd leader!
